Chapter 49 Summary: “Euyn: The Ice Caves, Khitan”

Content Warning: This section of the guide includes discussion of graphic violence, death, physical abuse, gender discrimination, and sexual content.

While Mikail and Euyn are caught in the net, they realize that the king’s coffin is not inside the mausoleum. Euyn wonders if Mikail’s source lied. Mikail tries to cut the ropes, but they are made of Weian metal.

Mikail asks Sora to disable the trap. She pauses, looking at them with anger, and then finds the counterbalance that releases the net. Euyn is surprised that Sora saved him after he lied to her and thinks about how she could poison and charm her way to Quilimar alone. This causes Euyn to consider that Aeri and Royo could betray them and take the Golden Ring to King Joon themselves.

Chapter 50 Summary: “Royo: The Light Mountains, Khitan”

Royo is alarmed by the amarth’s mix of human and bird features. Amarths can speak telepathically, and this one calls them thieves. It knows their names, Aeri’s true identity as a princess, and the name of Royo’s absent father, Snaw. Aeri says that they have to take the egg to Queen Quilimar, and the bird says that Quilimar can’t use the Golden Ring and that they are fools.
